March Hare 12-Car Rally and Pub Quiz.
Following up the training session run on 10th Feb, there will be a 12 car navigation rally on 24th March. Easy navigation, suitable for absolute beginners and auld geezers that have not done it for a while. The rally uses OS LandRanger map 58 B2 (2007) Perth and Alloa.
The rally HQ is at the Royal Tavern, corner of Main St and Strathore Rd, Thornton, which not actually on map 58, but you''ll get instructions to drive from the pub to the actual start control.
Scrutineering at Ross Fernie''s garage, R F Motors, right next door to the pub.
Get your Google map to the rally HQ for signing on etc.: Royal Tavern Map
The club has bought some OS maps and roamers (map measuring thingy), £10 gets you the map and roamer which is less than you can buy them for in Lidl, except you can''t actually buy them in Lidl or even Aldi. Soft lead pencils (like 4B) and soft rubbers will be handy. And a map light, or if all else fails, a head torch.
Full details and downloadable regs and entry form at March Hare 2010 page in the Events menu of this site.
Entry fee only £10, no competition licence required.

If you are not competing (go on, you know you want to), then obviously you''ll come and marshal, won''t you?
Marshals please contact Bill Creevy 01333 340346 or bill [at] gmsc dot org dot uk
Nuit Blanche Navigational Road Rally And when you are all warmed up and trained after the 12-car, there is the Nuit Blanche run by Edinburgh University Motor Sport Club a few days later on Saturday 27th March. OS LR Sheet 66.
There are actually two rallies in one, a 12-car (which you can enter without a competition licence) and a National B, which requires a Nat B competition licence and which is a round of the Scottish Navigational championship.
I have put the Regulations and entry form on the Scottish Association of Car Clubs site in the downloads section of the Navigational Rally page on the Scottish Association of Car Clubs.
