Knockhill Track Nights
Our Knockhill first track night of 2008 was a great success, the combination of a Monday holiday and glorious weather meant a big turnout and a busy track, but everybody was well behaved and we were able to run with open pit lane all night.
We only had a couple of hold-ups, one of them caused by Neil Thompson running out of fuel. Many years ago, Malcolm Mactavish, aka our sponsor Mr Rally-Photo.com, ran a Wally Of The Month spot in the club newsletter; maybe we should bring that back? And the first nominee is ... .
We used two stoppages to let Davy Robertson out for 3 laps in his Ralt single-seater hill climb car. That car has one of the very last Ford BDX works Escort rally engines, never actually fitted to an Escort, and sold off when the Sierra Cosworths took over. We should charge extra just to let you listen to the noise it makes.
We have three more nights booked at Knockhill this year, the next one Friday 27th June.
On track from 6 till 8pm, arrive 5:00 to 5:30 for signing on and safety briefings.
Prices £60 for driver and car, £10 for additional driver sharing same car, passengers free but have to sign on for insurance reasons.
(We may offer a discount for bookings paid in advance, watch this space for an update on that).
