Tour of Mull - GMSC Results
Congratulations to Jim and John Rintoul for winning the Best Scottish Residents award for 9th Overall on Mull at the Weekend, in their Evo 6.
Ian and Kathryn Forgan limped out of one stage on tickover with a broken throttle cable, but still won Best Newcomers in their Escort MkII.
Peter Weall navigated Graham Sherry''s 205 to 70th overall from starting dead last at number 160, despite going off the road and being stuck for several minutes until enough spectators arrived to push them back on.
Gordon Milne and Paul Watson had Suzuki Swift on the entry form, but turned up with the gorgeous silver Audi TT that Gordon has been building for a couple of years. MoT on Monday, to Mull on Tuesday, couple of minor finishing touches applied on the island, like conversion from fwd to 4wd. It looked great and went well until a suspension bracket broke after 6 stages on Friday night. Maybe we''ll see it out again on the Kingdom?
The two red 106s in Team Piglets United became Piglets Untied; Fergus Gray and Martin Jenkins retired with a broken engine mounting on Friday night, and Alan Cowan and Lock Horsburgh went out with a broken driveshaft at the Dervaig cemetary hairpin on Saturday afternoon. Both 106s were fixed and completed the Saturday night Trophy Rally but by the finish at 4:30am on Sunday, maybe the enthusiasm was a bit lacking, it''s not the same. Oh well, think of it as a high speed recce for next year.
Unseeded entry list is online now. (Events > Stage Rallies > Kingdom 20007)
