Season Wrap
After our first season success in the SRC things couldn’t of been more different in 2011.
The season started promisingly taking 2nd in class at the Snowman rally on a standard engine but quickly took a turn for the worse! A 5th gear roll at the Border Counties rally saw the car out of action for the next round whilst it underwent repairs.

Back for the Jim Clark on my preferred surface (tarmac) we were having a trying day with a sticking throttle and damaged suspension when the timing belt tensioner sheared and left us stranded at a junction and out of the rally.

More late nights and the engine had been repaired ready for the Richard Burns Memorial Rally.
Itchy feet got the better of me and Stuart, who was desperate to get into the car again after 8 months out having been in Afghanistan. We entered the Scottish rally 2 days before the event and packed up to go! A steady run ended on the last stage with a split second lapse of concentration producing another roll, and plenty more late nights replacing body panels!

The long haul down to Norwich for the Richard Burns Memorial Rally proved to be fruitful beating some seriously expensive machinery after our first 2 day event with a 1st in class. It was great to enjoy some success again after a long hard slog of a season!
We wrapped up the season with course car duties (a non-competitive run of the stages to check the route) on the Merrick rally and then presented the car at the RAF Leuchars Air Show over the Friday and Saturday.
With the news that I would be working abroad for 2 months ruling out our entry for the Tour of Mull the car was put up for sale as our Peugeot 106 had served us well but it’s now time to move on!
Next year we will use a Fiesta ST Challenge car which has been a stepping stone for many successful drivers in the past so we hope some of that success will rub off!
Join us for the 2012 season which begins on the 18th of February at the Snowman rally in Inverness!!
