One Stage Wonder!
A disappointing end to the season after four rallies and four problems in our new car, I guess luck is sold separately.
After a slow run on stage one with battery problems caused by a loose terminal we set off into stage two chasing time. A lock up under braking send us sliding towards bales rather quickly and despite my best efforts I couldn''t even get the car to swap ends to save the front of the car taking the impact. We drove on slowly, sure that the radiator would have been split, but the temperature gauge stayed down so we picked up the pace. A lap later it came grinding to a halt and would not restart, with the battery the prime suspect.
Not getting towed out after stage two meant we would have to wait another two hours to get the car back to service so we ran back to the car with Stuart carrying a 25kg starter pack in his bag, hoping to run the car off of this to get it into service after stage three. Not even this would keep the car running so back in service despite the best efforts of Gordon Ritchie and Dave MacDonald (thanks again!) we were forced to retire the car, and enjoyed some of the action as spectators.
A massive thanks to the team especially Gordon for 2009, despite winning on points we are not class one champions as we did not compete in enough rounds so we look forward to 2010 and hopefully a more successful year after the steep learning curve that was 2009!

57 Will Harley / William Harley / Peugeot 205 GTI 1600
Completed the four morning stages, but failed to finish.
62 Grant Carbry / Ross Carbry / VW Golf Mk2
One of those days. Took a maximum on SS4, then clipped a tyre and rolled at the control tower, ΒΌ of a mile from the end of the rally, all in glorious YouTube techniclour.
65 Iain Donaldson / Sean Macmillan / Escort Mk2 1998
Failed to finish.
82 Gordon McElrath / David Rintoul / Vauxhall Chevette HS 2300
During the week before the rally, the pretty white Sunbeam Stilleto had mysteriously morphed into a Chevette in the classic silver roller-skate and Castrol stripes. This was the first run for Gordons new car, and for his new navigator, yet another Rintoul. (I mean, where does he find them all?) Struggled with an intermittent misfire and completed 5 stages, but failed to finish the last one.

Sean Sinclair rearranging some tyres and lightening the bodywork.
