Aquarius 2003

Thanks to all competitors and to those who offered to marshal on this year's Aquarius Rally.

You've probably heard that we were struggling for numbers. We held out as long as we possibly could, but we ended up with just 7 entries plus a 'maybe'. After much wailing and gnashing of teeth, our heads rather than our hearts won the day. So I'm so sorry to say that the event is cancelled.

We had hoped that we could have just postponed it until later in the year, but we would have been either into 'late light' months or December.

And the last time we tried a December slot, the Championship had been decided and the new folk didn't want to buy a licence for one event. So we're reluctant to do that again.

The problem seems mainly to have been getting a date that suited the championship which caused late distribution of the championship information (and late issue of the regs by ourselves). So next year there will be no excuse. We claim our date NOW.

The Aquarius (or maybe we'll change the name to the Valentine - now there's a name from the history of Scottish rallying) will run on Saturday 14 February 2004.

Once again, thanks for your support and sorry that we've had to scrub the rally. We had some brilliant, unrallied, roads for you. Come next year and see for yourselves!
